Besmindo Group was first established in Jakarta, Indonesia in 1991 under the umbrella of PT Besmindotama Semesta. It is engaged in threading; manufacturing of tool joints, pup joints, stabilizers; and repair & redress of Drill - stem subs, OCTG casing & tubing, and drill pipes, to cater to the expansion and business development of international drilling contractors like Schlumberger, Halliburton, Baker Hughes and others that operate in Indonesia.

In 1995, PT Besmindotama Semesta expanded into manufacturing of Drill-stem subs, casing collars, and pup joints to serve the increasing needs and rapid development of the oil and gas industry in Indonesia. These kinds of equipment are mainly used in the oil and gas development projects of our clients located throughout of the whole Indonesian archipelago.

Since then the company has further expanded with the opening of four (4) companies that are strategically located throughout Indonesia and Malaysia. The Indonesian companies are in Jakarta (serving as the main arm of the group), Balikpapan - East Kalimantan, and Duri - Riau; the Malaysian companies are in Kemaman - Terengganu, and Labuan.

In our quest to provide better product quality, the company was awarded American Petroleum Institute (API) certification and licenses for various products used in the oilfield and other petroleum related industries. API provides quality assurance certification under the API Spec Q1 program; manufacturers who meet their criteria qualify to manufacture under the API Spec Q1 program and to utilize the API Monogram for Specs 5CT, 6A and 7 - 1. The company was also awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification for the Quality Management System in our facilities in Jakarta, Balikpapan and Duri.

During the late 1990's further expansion resulted in the company extending its business into corrosion services for drill pipes, drill collars, and stabilizers through application of hard-facing with tungsten carbide. This additional service helps diversify the Company into products related to the ones the company has already been manufacturing since 1991. We have developed working alliances with the world's leading manufacturers such as ARNCO, Technogenia, Cutting & Wear, in order to provide support to all of our clients' hard-facing needs in all our facilities.

In 1998, in order to provide a one-stop center to supplement our clients' needs for surface and downhole equipment for their project location in oil & gas areas, we expanded our service to include sales and rental, under P.T. Besmindo Materi Sewatama.

In 2007, we expanded to Australia, China and Brunei Darussalam.
